First Musical Memory: My mother played the piano frequently - my first memories were just happy piano, popular & classical - the first I can put a title to what she played washer favorite over the years - Nola.

Favorite Piece of Music: It's very difficult to pick one; I love so many different types & styles of music.  Since I'm a Gemini I'll pick two favorites - a show tune - "Send in the Clowns" from A Little Night Music, and a classical piece - Dvorak's Cello Concerto. In "Send in the Clowns" I like the changes in dynamics & the unusual chording Sondheim uses, and it shows music's wonderful ability to take a bad scene and make it be okay.  I love the excitement of show music - like opera, it tells a story complete with song, dance, costuming - it has it all. he cello speaks to me because of its lovely deep resonance.  The romantic style stirs the romantic within me - the subtlety & dynamics, rhythmic changes all move me.
